BOB ADKINS moved from Michigan to Alaska in 1964
and spent 32 years in public education in Sitka, Anchorage, and Haines.
He has degrees in engineering, math and physics, counseling, and school
administration. He also spent 14 seasons as captain of his own commercial
fishing boat in Bristol Bay and Lynn Canal, and 16 summers as a commercial
air taxi pilot in Southeast Alaska.
Bob is a self-taught photographer,
and has photographed in Alaska, Yukon, the Pacific Northwest, England,
Europe, and southern Africa. His work has appeared in in a number of magazines,
including WildBird, Outdoor Photographer, Alaska, Emergency, Outdoor
and Nature Photographer, Alaskan Southeaster,The Northern Journal, Birder's
World, TWA Ambassador, Alaska Business Monthly, Alaska Fishing and Hunting
News, Nature Photographer, and Parade Magazine. His photos have appeared in newsjournals from coast to coast
and in Europe, as well as on international calendars and CD covers.
Bob
has won numerous photography awards. He produces fine art prints, advertising
postcards, rackcards, and brochures, and other digital services. His photos
are on file with a nationwide stock publisher. He is currently a field
contributor to Nature Photography
magazine.
